Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;”
Romans 12:12 KJV

“For to him that is joined to all the living there is hope: for a living dog is better than a dead lion.”
Ecclesiastes 9:4 KJV

“The thought of my pain, my homelessness, is bitter poison; I think of it constantly and my spirit is depressed. Yet hope returns when I remember this one thing: The LORD ‘s unfailing love and mercy still continue, Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The LORD is all I have, and so I put my hope in him.”
Lamentations 3:19‭-‬24 GNB

The height of hopelessness is death. As long as a man is not dead, there is hope. There is hope of a better life; a better health condition; a better marriage; a better country; a better family; a better relationship and in deed a better you. That is why you CANNOT afford to end it in suicide. IT IS NEVER AN OPTION!

But before you talk too much about what you don’t have; about your ‘many’ challenges; about the negatives; about your disadvantages: about your misfortunes etc, take a few minute to think about the positives; the advantages; the goods and the many things you have which have remained dreams for others.

First, your health. Wow! Your greatest asset. Whatever your ambitions, whatever your dream of a good life, you can only even think of them because you have a good health condition. Nothing in the world matters to a seriously sick man except to be healed of his sickness. Bring all the money in the world to a man in serious, agonising pain and he won’t even look at your face, his only desire at the time is to get off the sick bed.

While you’re still unhappy you’ve not secured your Christmas wears, someone’s got very bad pains and wounds all over his body that he couldn’t even put a cloth on. While you’re crying over another pair of shoe, someone’s got no leg. Wristwatch is your own problem but someone don’t even have a wrist. You’re angry with God that you don’t have a car yet, but someone is only praying to be able to walk around with his legs just like you. Yes, I know you’re not happy about your sickness, but that same sickness has killed many. They are dead and hopeless!

While we desire and pray for better things, we should also remember to thank God immensely for the numerous benefits we enjoy. If you put a value on the parts of your body (kidney, heart, eyes, nose, hands etc), then you’ll know you’re a billionaire. You have been carrying around billions of dollars. And you think you’re poor? No, you’re not! If your kidney suddenly stops working (GOD FORBIDS), how much would you need to fix it? Be grateful!

However, true joy and hope is only found in God through Jesus. If you haven’t accepted him, I invite you today.

As we move toward the end of the year, and many feel disappointed about many things they have not achieved or acquired, think of the numerous benefits of God in and around your life and REJOICE. After all, better is a living dog than a dead lion! REJOICE IN HOPE!

Thank you and God bless you richly.

“Even by the God of thy father, who shall help thee; and by the Almighty, who shall bless thee with blessings of heaven above, blessings of the deep that lieth under, blessings of the breasts, and of the womb:”
Genesis 49:25 KJV

“And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.”
Genesis 27:1‭-‬4 KJV

The blessings of Parents are very crucial to the success or otherwise of their children. But this is one opportunity that many children (young and old) today have failed to explore. And in actual fact many parents died with these blessings stocked in them as the blessings were not pulled out by their children.

Many Parents are busy speaking empty words to the lives of their children thinking that they have blessed them. Though many do it genuinely, many of such words lack power which actually differentiate ordinary words from blessings. There is a big difference between what comes out from the mouth and what comes out from the soul. Many of such purported blessings do not go beyond the mouth. They lacked the backing and the power of the soul.

Now, against the general believe that Parents have the responsibilities to bless their children, it is the children instead that have the responsibilities to provoke these parental blessings. Otherwise, we will have empty words and not blessings.

Have you wondered why parental curses were easily activated than so called parental blessings? I found the answer in the book of proverbs: “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.”
Proverbs 26:2 KJV
Before a parent pronounces curse upon a child, such parent would have been hurt deeply by the actions of the child. As a result, the parent pronounces the curse from the soul, beyond the words of mouth. In other words, such curses were provoked by the actions of the child.

In the same way, blessings causeless shall not come. Isaac understood this principle very well in Genesis 27: 1-4 as quoted above. He could have just opened his mouth and speak the blessings as many parents would do but he didn’t want to speak empty words that would hold no water. So, he deliberately requested that his son would provoke the blessings of the soul. Once an action triggers the soul, naturally, the soul will speak. If the actions is good, it will speak blessings. And if the action is bad, the soul will speak curses. Please note that the mouth may not necessarily echoes the voice of the soul but whatever the soul speaks stands notwithstanding.

As a son or daughter of your parents, if you must have their real blessings, you have to provoke it by what you do and what you give to them.

Isaac said “…. bring me some venison…” Have you taken some venison to your parents such that they love? Have you ever done something positive for them that really touched their souls? You need to be deliberate about it. Do something to provoke their blessings. They may try to bless but if the blessings are not provoked, they will be mere words of mouth that would hold no water.

Thank you for taking your time to read.

“And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.”
John 9:1 KJV

There has been stories of miracles and encounters with Jesus but this particular encounter is of great interest to me.

Jesus was heading for a scheduled meeting and he saw a man for whom he had to disrupt his itinerary. No meeting was too important for Jesus, that he would not even take a minute on the way to show mercy if need be. He saw a man that needed his attention and he did not pass him away. How many people that needed our attention have we ignored on our ways to so called important meetings, even if we were going to church. Jesus would not ignore any man that needed his attention.

Another fascinating thing about this man was that he did not lobby for Jesus’s attention. Instead, it was Jesus that found him out. There were others in similar situation that would cry and shout just to get Jesus to attend to them but his was different. It was a case of pure mercy received of the Lord. He didn’t go to Jesus, rather, Jesus came to him. What an example of mercy obtained!

The Almighty God is always on the move, attending to the different issues of men. I pray that as he passes by, he will not bypass your own case in Jesus name. The mercy of God will search you out. He will attend to your case also in the name of Jesus Christ.

However, you need to be well positioned for such an encounter by opening the door of your hear to Jesus. You need to allow him in to express his love for you (Rev.3:20). You’ll need to accept him as the Lord and give him full control of your life.

Prayer Hymn:- Pass me not O gentle Saviour…
